The Gifted Savings program is a first-of-its-kind asset-building study. A cohort of 20 Yellow Springs residents received a savings account with mixed assets. Gifted Savings was designed with a two-year vesting period and an emergency withdrawal feature whereby participants may withdraw up to $500 once per year for the first two years. Two years post-enrollment, participants may withdraw the entire value of their GS account or continue holding the assets.
