The City of Santa Fe's Learn, Earn, Achieve Program (SF LEAP) is a project under Mayors for a Guaranteed Income. The program explored the impact of a guaranteed income on young parents who were studying at Santa Fe Community College (SFCC). Its goal was to help these parents complete their certificate or degree program so that they could secure a stable income for themselves and their families in the future. In October 2021, 100 young parents who earned less than 200% of the federal poverty level (about $34,000 for a family of two or $52,000 for a family of four) and were enrolled in SFCC were randomly chosen to receive $400 disbursements every month for one year.
